On Wednesday, June 19, 2024, the Merrill City Band celebrated with the community in pirate attire and pirate style. Ahoy mateys! If ye missed the swaggering costumed seafarers that took over Normal Park last week, have no fear! A collection of photos highlight the fun and fantasy enjoyed by kids of all ages, as games, a pirate dress-up contest, face painting, a giant inflatable pirate ship and obstacle course, a dig for buried treasure, coloring contest, and lots of music rounded out the evening. Yo ho ho, attendees were hooked in by all the festivities! The good news? No one declared mutiny and no one had to walk the plank this time around! Even with all the rain, there was no sign of alligator or shark-infested waters. And the boom of cannon fire made for a rum-bling good time for all! Aye aye, by all accounts, a good time was had by all and the Merrill City Band’s performance was a delightful treasure to behold.
