Trick-or-treating hours

Trick-or-treating hours in the City of Merrill have been set for Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

  • Children are reminded to travel in groups or with adults and to wear reflective clothing or reflective tape on their costumes and carry a flashlight or glow stick for improved visibility, ensure any masks or costumes do not impede their ability to see or to walk, walk on sidewalks where available or facing traffic as far off the road as possible where that is not possible, go to familiar homes and neighborhoods for trick-or-treating, and watch out for traffic to ensure a safe Halloween celebration.
  • Drivers should be especially diligent in watching for pedestrians on Halloween and during designated trick-or-treating hours.
  • Residents offering treats for trick-or-treaters are reminded to turn on a porch light or otherwise designate their participation in the annual Halloween festivities and to give out treats still sealed in their original packaging.
  • Parents should inspect their child’s candy before consumption for safety and to eliminate any items that could affect food allergies,
