The Merrill Expo Center showcased all of the non-animal fair entries this year. The public was invited inside to see all of the entries and the collection of ribbons. This cake got Best of Show. Tina L. Scott photo.
Huge numbers of volunteer hours go into making the Lincoln County Fair the great success it is each year. Behind the scenes, volunteers cook up delicious food and snacks for fair goers in vendor buildings and stands. And let’s not forget about all those that get the fairgrounds ready, keep it clean, take tickets for shows and events, help direct parking, work with the kids, do the judging, organize the entertainment and events, and all of the other tasks too numerous to mention … Thanks to all the behind-the-scenes people, the Lincoln County Fair is a great, fun, family event. Showing animals is a big, traditional part of a county fair, and the Lincoln County Fair provides a great opportunity for local kids to show off all their hard work with their animals. Tina L. Scott photo.
Many area youth work hard all year, raising sheep, pigs, and beef cattle to show at the fair and to sell at the annual Friday night market sale. After all that work, more than a few tears were shed when it was time to load the sold animals into the truck at the end of the fair. Tina L. Scott photo.
