Members of the Friends of Council Grounds State Park (Friends) have narrowed the entries in their ninth annual amateur photography contest. The contest, which is open to images taken in Council Grounds State Park (CGSP), called for photos taken by amateur photographers to be entered in one of four categories: plants, wildlife, people using the park, and landscapes. The Friends group selected their top three photos in each of the categories, from 35 entries received and submitted by Wisconsin residents and residents of Minnesota, New Jersy, and Illinois. Now they need the public to vote for their favorites!
Voting will run from Aug. 15 to Aug. 31, 2023.
Photos are included with this article and may also be viewed at the CGSP office, the T.B.Scott Library in Merrill, or on the Friends of Council Grounds State Park Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064656583828.
Only one vote per person per category, for a total of four votes please. Multiple votes in the same category will be discarded.
To submit your votes, email the name of your favorite image in each category to [email protected] or go to the Friends Facebook page and vote by “liking” your favorite photo in each category, but remember to only “like” one photo in each category.
Winners will be announced in early September.
