Frieda L. Kleinschmidt, 89, of Merrill, passed away Friday, August 18, 2023, at her home. Frieda was born January 16, 1934, in Woodlawn, New York, daughter of the late William and Lillian (Wiepert) Moritz. She married William A. Kleinschmidt in 1951, in Merrill. Together they had three wonderful children Dawn, Peggy, and Steven. He preceded her in death at a very young age. Frieda worked in the deli at John’s Food King, John’s IGA, and Drew’s Piggly Wiggly, where she met so many wonderful people. She loved her dog, flower gardening, and most importantly, spending time with her family who affectionately called her ‘Grandma Sweetie’. Frieda was very proud of her grandson, Josh. She enjoyed her morning coffee with her friends at ‘Mickey’s’ and will be greatly missed by many.

Frieda is survived by her children, Dawn Bruchey and Steven Kleinschmidt both of Merrill; grandson, Josh Trantow of Merrill; sisters, Rose Carrington of Florida and Mable Zortman of Stevens Point; and brother, Harry Moritz of Alabama. Frieda was preceded in death by her husband, William Kleinschmidt; parents, William and Lillian Moritz; daughter, Peggy Trantow; and sister, Georgie (Ardell) Bauman.

The family would like to thank Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services for their wonderful care of Frieda. Taylor Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at www.taylorstinefuneralhome.com
