Ruth Ann Schult, 83, of Merrill, passed away Monday, August 14, 2023, at her home, one day after her 83rd birthday celebration, surrounded by her family. Ruth was born August 11, 1940, in Medford, daughter of the late Walter and Francis (Rudolph) Faude. She married LaVern Schult March 15, 1974, in Medford. He preceded her in death in 1997. Ruth worked at the Merrill Bean Cannery, Lincoln Wood, and volunteered at St. Vinnie’s. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill. Ruth enjoyed playing sheepshead, gardening, cooking, baking, and collecting salt and pepper shakers.

Ruth is survived by her children, Tami Schult (Marty Tessmer) of Racine, Scott Schult of Wausau, Stacy Schult of Green Bay, and Shawn (Molly) Schult of Merrill; grandchildren, Jammie, Jessica, Kristie, Lucas, Cody, Connor, Heather, Stephanie, Matt, and Josh; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Sandy Heier of Germantown and Joan Armbrust of Medford; and daughter-in-law, Jeanne Faude of Jackson; Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, LaVern Schult; parents, Walter and Francis Faude; son, Steve Faude; grandchildren, Jeremiah and Heidi Jo; and brothers, Elmer ‘Pete’ Faude, Ronald ‘Butch’ Faude, Duane ‘Snuffy’ Faude, and Raymond Faude.

The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 18, 2023, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill. Father Mariadas Vallabhaneni will preside. Burial will take place in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, August 17, 2023, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill.
