Badges and Bows
Area officers help instruct kids in archery
The City of Merrill Parks and Rec department, with a grant from the Cops and Kids program in cooperation with the City of Merrill Police Department, Little Lakes Memories, and the Lincoln County Sports Club (LCSC) members held Badges and Bows on July 31, 2023. The event was an opportunity for Merrill police officers and other volunteers to mentor youth on the basics of archery and air gun shooting.
Hosted by the LCSC, area youth were given tips on both activities using the LCSC ranges. Grant money was used to purchase equipment and for other expenses.
Particular emphasis was placed on giving special needs children a chance to learn how to shoot bows and air guns with expert supervision at the ranges.
