All Lincoln County veterans and their spouses or guests are invited to a picnic on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2023, beginning at 11 a.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Park, 101 E. River St. in Tomahawk at the Bandstand Pavilion. All are encouraged to wear something that depicts the branch of service they served in and conveys a patriotic spirit. Share a meal and enjoy comradeship. A free main dish lunch and water, soda, ice, napkins, and condiments will be provided. Veterans should bring their own lawn chairs, a dish to pass or dessert, and bring their own plates, silverware, napkins, and adult beverages [if desired]. “Since COVID interfered the last couple years, we are trying to get a feel of numbers and return to ‘normal,’” organizers said. “We look forward to a great attendance.”
In the event of rain, the picnic will be moved to the VFW Club, 203 S. 4th St. in Tomahawk.
