Georgene L. Oestreich – Ritchie, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill, while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.  Georgene was born on December 16, 1946 to the late Ralph Thomas and Rosalie Ann (Adams) Lane.  She attended and graduated from high school before entering the workforce.  Georgene did a variety of jobs, including working at Piggly Wiggly in the deli, Weinbrenner and did some daycare.  She enjoyed the outdoors and fishing, as well as listening to Johnny Cash.  Georgene loved watching her westerns, especially Gunsmoke and gameshows.  She would look forward to her trips to the casino to play the slots, and later in life, she liked to play bingo at Pine Crest Nursing Home.  Georgene’s face would light up every time she saw her favorite flower, yellow roses. Family was first and foremost in her life, and she was very protective and supportive!  Georgene is remembered as a tough and strong-willed woman that was respected by many.  Every time you see a yellow rose, just think of Georgene and smile.  She will be missed.

Georgene is survived by her son: Chris (Shawna) Kletzine of Wausau, with their children: Bram, Chance and Zoe Kletzine, along with Allie Mackowski, daughter: Rosalie (Jonathan) Arrowood of Merrill, with their children: Star and Spencer Spiegel.  She is further survived by her siblings: Richard, Joan (Dick), John (Jill), Larry (Nancy), Wes (Tracey) and Donna (Dennis).  She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Daniel Oestreich and Paul Ritchie and sister-in-law: Annette Lane.
