MAPS accepts June donations

The following donations were approved and/or accepted at the June 21 Merrill Area Public Schools (MAPS) Board of Directors meeting:
Donation of labor and materials from the Silver “M” Club and SGS Environmental valued at $6,150 for placing recognition bricks in the plaza at Jay Stadium; donation of cash from Incredible Bank Foundation valued at $20,000 for theater lighting upgrades and Theatre Jays program support; a check from Stacy Literski valued at $30 for Girls’ Soccer; funds from Aspirus Merrill Hospital valued at $1,800 for training pupil services staff to offer Aggression Replacement training and Learning to Breathe for middle school students; a check from AGRA Industries, Inc. valued at $250 for DECA Color Run supplies; funds from Culvers of Merrill valued at $190 for Merrill FFA via the Culver’s Scoops of Thanks Day; diapers for a family in need from the Mary Geiss Memorial Foundation valued at $44.86 for helping out a family at Pine River School for Young Learners; funds from Sutton’s Wine Bar valued at $300 for The Nest at Merrill High School; a monetary gift from Bob & Janet Grunenwald valued at $1,500 for a JV baseball fence at Merrill High School; a monetary gift from Merrill Foundation valued at $2,000 for the MHS Theatre Jays; a check from Cordova Agency Inc. valued at $125 for the DECA Color Run; a check from Gail Abegglen valued at $50 for the Merrill FFA in memory of Alissa Sosnovske; sensory items, weighted vests and jacket, and visual timers from the Mary Geiss Memorial Always Believe in Children valued at $500 for Kate Goodrich Elementary School Special Education student needs; a check from Packaging Corporation of America valued at $100 for DECA Color Run supplies; a check from Club X to C valued at $866 for the DECA fundraiser; and a monetary gift from Community Foundation of NCW valued at $1,019.19 for the MHS FAB Lab for partnership with the elementary schools to promote STEAM Education and the Beyond Crayons and Computers Grant.
