On Monday, June 5, 2023, the City of Merrill announced the launch of the City’s newly redesigned website: https://ci.merrill.wi.us/
Over the last year, Chantel Kuczmarski, the Communications Consultant hired by the City of Merrill last June, has been working with the Marketing & Communications Committee to help “attract and retain talent” to the Merrill community to fill many job openings at Merrill area businesses.
“The Marketing and Communications Committee is focusing on digital marketing,” as a key component of this effort, Kuczmarski said.
“We know that our target audience is online and using social media. Offering a modern and highly functional website is a key component to a more effective public communications program and overall digital marketing campaign,” she said.
Attracting new employees to the area is one reason for the redesigned website, but it’s not the only goal behind the initiative.
The new website is also designed to help attract visitors and potential new residents to the City, Merrill Mayor Steve Hass said. And, the new design is also more user-friendly for Merrill residents who are looking for information.
“The new site is easy to navigate and offers information with fewer clicks,” Hass said.
“A clean, easy-to-use layout,” provides citizens, potential visitors to the community, those who might be looking to relocate to Merrill, and those considering starting a business in Merrill all with the resources they need, including information and links focused on City government, departments, meetings, services, the Merrill community, and more.
The redesign “highlights Merrill’s brand image of living a simple, fulfilling lifestyle and features all the diverse, year-round activities Merrill has to offer,” Kuczmarski said. She added that using lots of images provided by contributors from the local community make the new website design more authentic and unique.
“Thank you to those who submitted photos to us,” she said. “The images help bring the website to life and showcase Merrill’s outdoor recreation.”
“Merrill has so much to offer and this website celebrates that.” Kuczmarski said.
“Every feature of the new website is mobile-responsive, meaning residents can easily access the City’s information and resources from any device–smartphones, tablets, or computers,” she said.
“I am very excited to see this finally get completed,” Hass said. “Thank you to everyone who was part of this process.”
