Delores Irene Wimmer, of Merrill, died on June 5, 2023 at Aspirus Merrill Hospital. She was 90 years old. She was born on June 24, 1932 in Antigo, a daughter of George and Ruby (Curtis) Stone. She married Raymond Taggart on January 14, 1952, he preceded her in death in 1970. She married Theodore Wimmer on April 4, 1986, he preceded her in death in 2002. Delores attended Little Chicago Grade School. She washed dishes at McMillion Hotel for many years. Delores moved to Milwaukee in 1973 and returned to Antigo in 1984. She was a foster grandmother at West Elementary School in Antigo. She was a member of Light House Baptist Church in Antigo. Delores enjoyed crocheting baby afghans with crosses in the middle, having donated hundreds to churches and hospitals. She loved spending time with family.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Bessert of Antigo; two sons, Donald (Sue) Taggart of Appleton, and Tim (Crystal) Taggart of Merrill; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by three daughters, Debra Hoecherl, Janice Below, and Sandra Anderson; four grandchildren, Samantha Zima, Nathan Taggart, Dakota Below, and Anthony Taggart; and all her sisters and brothers.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 9, at 1 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating. Burial will take place at Star Neva Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday June 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences at www.bradleyfh.com.
