The T.B. Scott Free Library Beyond Books: Community ArtShare Exhibit for the month of May 2023 is called “Treasured Book Boxes” and will feature the artwork of fifth and sixth grade students from St. John Lutheran School in Merrill. Bill Pittman donated the wooden trinket boxes to the library’s Youth Services Department to be used for an art-related project. Students then decorated the boxes to represent their favorite books, choosing scenes and book covers to paint to convey the stories that mean the most to them. The exhibit runs the month of May and is located on the second floor of the T.B. Scott Free Library in the Carnegie Wing.

Students began working with a small wooden treasure trinket box. Submitted photo.
