Belfiori awarded the Pointers Legacy Award

Kelsie Belfiori, daughter of Dom and Julie Belfiori and MHS graduate, was recently awarded the Pointers Legacy Award during the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Volleyball Banquet. The award “recognizes someone with outstanding character and someone who is a role model in all areas of being a student-athlete.” Her teammates spoke to her leadership abilities as team captain, as well as her confidence, skill, competitiveness, discipline, perseverance, character, devotion to her studies, and other qualities that make her much admired. Kelsie is pursuing a degree in Physical Education and will graduate in December 2023.

Area students named to Dean’s List at Winona State University

Winona State University announced the fall 2022 Dean’s List. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must be an undergraduate enrolled full-time (at least 12 credit hours for a grade) and achieve a minimum grade point average of 3.5. UW-Green Bay announces academic honors

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay announced the names of full-time undergraduate students earning 12 or more credits of graded coursework who received fall 2022 semester academic achievement recognition, including students attending all four UW-Green Bay campuses (Green Bay, Marinette, Manitowoc, Sheboygan). Students who earn a 4.0 grade point average, representing all “A” grades, receive highest honors; students who earn 3.99 to 3.75 grade point averages receive high honors; students who earn 3.74 to 3.50 grade point averages earn honors. Young named to fall Deans’ List at Nebraska

Isaac Forrest Young of Merrill has been named to the Deans’ List at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for the fall semester of the 2022-23 academic year.
Young, a Senior majoring in Actuarial Science, was named to the Dean’s List for the College of Business.

Schultz of Merrill graduates midyear

The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh held their 58th midyear commencement on Dec. 17 at Kolf Sports Center to recognize the accomplishments of students from all three of its campuses (Fond du Lac, Fox Cities, and Oshkosh). More than 900 students earned bachelor’s, associate, master’s, and doctoral degrees and graduated midyear. Among those graduates was Molly Schultz of Merrill who earned her Master of Science in Education, Literacy.

UW Oshkosh fall 2022 Dean’s List, Honor Roll released

University of Wisconsin Oshkosh officials have released the names of students added to the Dean’s List and Honor Roll for the fall 2022 term.
The term GPA requirement for University Honor Roll is 3.3; the term GPA requirement for Dean’s List is 3.75, and students must have a minimum of 12 credits with no individual grades below a “C” and no incomplete or non-reported grades at the time the process is run.
Two Merrill students were recognized:

• Taylor Korman, Dean’s List

Leskela graduates from UW-Platteville

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville announced diplomas to more than 500 students for the fall of 2022, among them Ryan Leskela of Merrill who graduated mid-year with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

UW-Platteville announces Chancellor’s List

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville announced its Chancellor’s List, honoring those with perfect 4.0 grade-point averages (GPA) for the fall 2022 semester. Kimberly Cummings of Gleason, who is studying Criminal Justice, Psychology, at UW-Platteville was among those honored and named to the Chancellor’s List for her perfect 4.0 GPA.

UW-Platteville announces Dean’s List

UW-Platteville also announced its Dean’s List, honoring full-time students who earned high honors in the fall 2022 semester. College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture, and the College of Liberal Arts and Education require grade-point averages of 3.75 and above for Dean’s List honors, while the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Science requires students to reach at least a 3.50.

Schulz makes Carthage College Dean’s List

Carthage College in Kenosha has named Camryn Schulz of Merrill to the Dean’s List for academic excellence during the Fall 2022 term. Dean’s List honors are accorded to Carthage students who achieve a minimum 3.5 grade-point average while carrying at least 14 credit hours during a semester.

Root earns Semester Honors at Edgewood College

Brian Root of Merrill has earned Semester Honors for the Fall 2022 semester at Edgewood College. Fulltime students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average for the semester are eligible for this honor.

Local students graduate from UW-Eau Claire

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire awarded 613 degrees in December 2022. Of the degrees awarded, 609 were received by students attending the Eau Claire campus and 4 were received by students attending UW-Eau Claire – Barron County. Locally, two area students were among those graduates:

UW-Stevens Point undergraduates honored for scholastic achievement

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point honored more than 2,350 undergraduate students for attaining high grade point averages during the fall semester of the 2022-2023 academic year.
Full-time undergraduates who earned grade points of 3.90 to 4.0 (4.0 equals straight A) are given the highest honors designation. High honor citations go to those with grade point averages from 3.75 to 3.89, and honor recognition is accorded to those with grade point averages from 3.50 to 3.74.
Personalized certificates of scholastic achievement are sent to those who earned highest honors distinction.

UW-La Crosse announces December 2022 graduates
