For fans of figure skating, the Merrill Ice Reflections annual show was the perfect way to appreciate the beauty and grace of a winter sport indoors this past Saturday and Sunday. With two shows at the Merrill Area Recreation Complex Ice Arena, area skaters from age 4 up through age 17, showcased their talent on the ice.
“We had 66 skaters in our show,” said Kelly Kraegenbrink, Merrill Ice Reflections Treasurer. “The event was well attended by family and friends.”
During the show, titled “Spinning Through the Hits,” Merrill Ice Reflections raised funds for their scholarship fund through ticket sales and a 50/50 raffle held at the event.
This year’s Merrill Ice Reflections Board of Directors is comprised of: Becky Rindt, President; Melissa Meyer, Vice President; Kelly Kraegenbrink, Treasurer; Jessica Belant, Secretary; Sara Lonsdorf; Leah Zastrow; Sara Schmidt; Jennifer Freyer; and Laurie Jacoby.
“The skating season ends March 8,” Kraegenbrink said.
