Diane R. (Bessey)Doering

Diane R. (Bessey) Doering, 82, of Gleason (Town of Schley, Lincoln County), passed away at Pine Crest Nursing Home on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, in Merrill, Wisconsin. She was born May 11, 1940, to the late Edmund and Emma (Schmidt) Bessey in Merrill, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to James A. Doering on June 18, 1960. He preceded her in death on September 10, 2010. Diane was a graduate of Merrill High School class of 1958. Diane worked at Hanson Glove, Weinbrenner Shoe Factory, and Semling &Menke Company. Diane enjoyed traveling with her husband Jim for 50 years while he played the drums with several area bands, traveling as far as Pennsylvania. Diane also enjoyed her monthly get togethers with her lady friends going to the casinos and out to eat for birthdays. Diane also took great pleasure in mowing her lawn and keeping the lawn looking nice, Diane and Jim spent many evenings enjoying the pond. 

She is survived by son, David (Debbie) Doering, Gleason; daughters, Laurie (Michael) Yarie, Weston and Jill (Bruce) Cohrs, Merrill; grandchildren, Michael Doering, Ashley (John) Manderfield, Brandon (Courtney) Fourcade, Travis Yarie, Nicole (Adam) McAfee, Jason (Jen) Cohrs, and Molly (Robert) Krueger; and great-grandchildren, MacKenzie McAfee, Colton Krueger, Justin Cohrs, and Jordan Cohrs. Further survivors include sisters-in-law, Kate Bessey, Rhinelander and Joan Bessey, Tomahawk. Diane was preceded in death by her husband Jim of 50 years, (September 10, 2010; brothers, DuWayne Bessey and LeRoy Bessey; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Alfred Pike; grandchildren, Joshua and Amber Fourcade; and her beloved dog, Maggie.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 13, 2023, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Rev. Greg Laska will officiate. Burial will be in the Doering Cemetery, Town of Schley. The visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home. Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services is assisting the family. Pallbearers will be nephews Jim Pike, Glenn Bessey, David Bessey, grandsons Michael Doering, Brandon Fourcade and grandson-in-law, Robert Krueger. Honorary pallbearer will be Travis Yarie. The family would like to thank Linda Maki and Joan Bessey for the care, kindness, and friendship over the years.
