Trisha Detert, Merrill High School Principal, was recently appointed to the Professional Standards Council for Teachers (PSCT) as a representative of the Association of Wisconsin School Administrators. Appointments are subject to confirmation by the Wisconsin Senate, however, Detert’s term is effective immediately. Pending Senate confirmation, Detert’s three-year term will continue through Dec. 9, 2025
The Council serves in an advisory capacity to the State Superintendent in matters related to educator preparation, licensing, and educator development.
“We are very proud that Mrs. Detert was asked to serve on this important council for the State of Wisconsin and have no doubt that she will do an outstanding job of representing our district and community,” said Shannon Murray, Superintendent of Merrill Area Public Schools.
Mrs. Detert will maintain her role as Principal while serving in this capacity. “I am honored to serve on the Professional Standards Council,” Mrs. Detert said, “This opportunity will allow me to grow my leadership skills and positively impact education in Wisconsin.”
