Ralph Erwin Schulz, age 79, of Eagle River, WI, formerly of Merrill, WI, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Milestone Senior Living in Eagle River, with his family by his side and under the care of Compassus Hospice. He was born on March 17, 1943, to the late Leslie and Deliah (Grunenwald) Schulz in Merrill, WI. Ralph attended and graduated from Merrill High School. He proudly served in the United States Army until he was honorably discharged. Ralph earned the Good Conduct Medal and was a sharpshooter. He did Radio Relay with the 7th Army NCO Academy. Ralph attended Northcentral Technical College in Wausau and had an associate degree in Drafting Correspondence. Ralph worked in the manufacturing field for most of his adult life. When he wasn’t working, you could find him on the water doing his favorite activity, fishing, especially in Harrison Hills.He also looked forward to going to his friend, Bill’s, cabin in Gleason during the hunting seasons. Ralph enjoyed hunting as well, whether it was deer, pheasant, duck, or snowshoe rabbit hunting. He was a funny man that had a great sense of humor but could also be very serious at times and disciplined. Ralph was a giving and helpful person to his family and friends. Ralph will be sadly missed, but always in the hearts of his family and friends.
Ralph is survived by his children: Scott Schulz and Andrea Londerville, grandchildren: Joshua, Carmen and Crista, great granddaughter: Aria, sister: Lucille (Jerry) Kufahl and brother: Harold “Buck” Schulz. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law: Mike Londerville, sisters: Gertrude Jaeger and Margaret Munroe, brother: Milton Schulz, sister-in-law: Pat Schulz and brother-in-law: Eugene Munroe.
A private family service and military honors will be held. The family would like to extend their deep appreciation for the care and support they received from the staff at Milestone Senior Living and Compassus Hospice during Ralph’s time there.
