Finucan of Merrill in Marquis Who’s Who

James Finucan of Merrill has been included in Marquis Who’s Who, a biographical book of individuals and innovators who excel in a wide variety of endeavor, including politics, business, medicine, law, education, art, religion, and entertainment. The Who’s Who in America® books are a biographical source for many researchers, journalists, librarians, and executive search firms around the world. According to the publisher, Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes selects individuals to be profiled on the basis of current reference value, taking into account factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field.

Drawing on 30 years of professional experience in recruiting, Finucan was recognized in the volume as the founding owner and chief executive officer of Tactical Search and Recruitment, where he also works as an executive recruiter and writer. He established the company in 2006, and has since overseen daily business operations and works with clients to ensure he understands their needs. Previously, Mr. Finucan worked as an executive recruiter for Management Recruiters International.

During the early stages of his career, Finucan gained valuable expertise in a variety of staffing matters with Badger Creditors, where he served as a collection manager and recovery specialist. Between 1993 and 2000, he maintained responsibility for training 19 bill collectors, who went on to have record-breaking years of multimillions recovered. As a recovery specialist during the early-1990s, Mr. Finucan also achieved numerous recovery records while writing “Past Due! A Debt Collection Manual for Small Business Owners,” before being promoted to manager.

Finucan is involved with Rotary Club in Merrill, plays trumpet for the Merrill City Band, and belongs to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He completed two years of community college coursework and a two-year police program before becoming a certified senior account manager. He is the author of “The Spear,” “Interview Strategy: The Next Move is Yours,” “Wild Counselor: 1977 – The Summer of the Hunt,” and “Year of the Smuggler: A Memoir of 1984.”

Finucan was named Recruiter of the Month on multiple occasions, earned the Pacesetter Award, and received the Account Executive of the Year Award through Management Recruiters International. He said he takes most pride in following up with candidates who are grateful for the opportunity to grow within their careers. The cornerstone of his success lay in his faith, as well as his hard work and the ability to prioritize tasks, he adds. In the coming years, he plans to write more and see his screenplays performed in theatres, while also expanding his company.
