Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill will bring the Christmas story to life with an Outdoor Living Nativity on Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, from 4:00-6:30 p.m. in the church parking lot on the corner of State and Main Streets. All are invited to drive by or walk through to see the human characters reenact the story, along with live animals, and to be reminded of the reason for the season.
“Hear the angels proclaim the Good News and witness the shepherds rushing to see the Newborn King,” organizers at Trinity say. The Christmas story will be broadcast at the event, and those driving by can also hear the story as it unfolds on their car radios. The electronic sign at Trinity will provide the station numbers so drivers passing by can tune in to hear it.
The live animals involved in the Living Nativity are from Kraft’s Kuddly Kritters Petting Zoo from Athens, and the kids can pet them when they visit the nativity.
In addition, the church will offer free chili and creamy chicken wild rice soup and warm apple cider, along with a free gift.
A Christmas bake sale will also take place in the church basement during this time.
And to complete the evening and their kick-off to the Christmas season, Trinity will host a Free family movie night in the church starting at 6:30 p.m. The movie, released in 2005, depicts the magic of Christmas, and there will be Free popcorn and hot chocolate to enjoy during the movie.
