When you just don’t know what to buy that person on your gift list, consider giving a Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce Gift Certificate.
“When you purchase Merrill Chamber Gift Certificates, you’re helping to support your local businesses,” said Clyde Nelson, Executive Director of the Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce. “It’s a great opportunity to showcase the unique businesses Merrill has to offer.”
Recipients of Merrill Chamber Gift Certificates can use them at any member business in town. “If you want to buy toys at a local toy store, like Johnson’s, or get some food or beverages at one of the many dining establishments, the choice is up to you!” Nelson said.
In 2020, the Merrill Chamber sold $138,416.50 in Gift Certificates, the highest number in the last several years. The Chamber is hoping they can hit $140,000 or more in sales again in 2022.
Purchasing and gifting Merrill Chamber Gift Certificates ensures the money will be spent locally, often at small businesses, and helps support Merrill area businesses, the local people who work at and own those local businesses, and their families. It’s a win-win.
Gift certificates can be ordered in any amount, however, the Chamber suggests a maximum of $50 per certificate. Gift Certificates are good for one year after the date printed on the certificate.
A list of businesses where the certificates can be used is included with each purchase, and the list can also be found on the Merrill Chamber website: www.MerrillChamber.org. Participating businesses process Merrill Chamber Gift Certificates just like a check and deposit them right into their business bank accounts.
Merrill Chamber Gift Certificates can be purchased at the Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce, 705 N. Center Ave. in Merrill, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For larger orders, please provide one day’s advance notice for office staff to get them ready and call 715.536.9474 with your request and to arrange for a pick-up time.
