Tom J. Dittmer

Tom J. Dittmer, 67, of 2167 County Road Y, Tomahawk passed away at his home on Saturday, October 29, 2022 following a long battle with cancer. Tom was born February 20, 1955 in Elmhurst, Illinois to Theodore and Angeline (Decker) Dittmer. He was married to Shirley Legan on September 11, 1996 in Tomahawk. Dit spent 40 years working at Owens-Illinois/PCA paper mill and retired in 2015. In his younger years he was a speed skater, moto cross racer, and was a Junior World Champion Snowmobile Racer. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was an avid reader, packer fan, and loved just sitting outside. He and Shirley both enjoyed traveling. Tom loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley. Children, Jessica (Eric Greil) Dittmer of Tomahawk, Jason Flint of Washington, Carrie Flint and Kristen Flint, both of Tomahawk. He is further survived by four grandchildren (Darius Hubbard, Sequoia Smedbron, Kiona Smedron, and Justinian Flint). Also surviving are his Step mother, Bernice Dittmer of Illinois, a brother, Theodore Dittmer of Washington, and his ex-wife, Pam Timm of Tomahawk.  Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Ron and Rich.

A Memorial Service for Tom Dittmer will be held on Saturday, November 12th, 2:00 p.m. at Krueger Family Funeral Home. Pastor Ross Nelson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from noon until the time of services at 2:00 p.m. Memorials are appreciated to Mayo Clinic Cancer Research.
