MERRILL POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS

10-17-2022
At 1:22 p.m. an individual riding an ATV was stopped after they were seen operating on a road closed to ATV traffic. The male was issued a citation for the violation.
At 1:24 p.m. a business reported that two people had left the store with items that they had not paid for. Investigation is ongoing.

10-18-2022
At 11:08 a.m. officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on a roadway where one vehicle had sideswiped a parked vehicle. No one was injured in the crash.
At 4:10 p.m. a vehicle was stopped after it was observed traveling over the posted speed limit. The driver was issued a citation for the violation.

10-19-2022
At 1:07 a.m. a vehicle was seen pulling into a business and shutting its vehicle lights off. Officers made contact with the occupants who advised they had permission to take boxes from the business. Officers advised them that due to the business being closed and it being unknown if they had permission, they would have to leave and come back during business hours.
At 9:35 a.m. a vehicle that had almost caused a crash in the roundabout was stopped by an officer. The driver was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested for operating under the influence.
At 4:44 p.m. an officer responded to damage to property complaint. A vehicle had damage to its passenger side mirror. Investigation is ongoing.

10-20-22
At 2:56 p.m. a caller reported a female stumbling about in a gas station parking lot who appeared to be under the influence of drugs. Contact was made with the female and she was clearly under the influence of drugs. She was arrested for operating while intoxicated. A search revealed a methamphetamine pipe in her possession. She was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping.
At 3:40 p.m. a caller reported he had reviewed his surveillance video and a suspicious male had been wandering around his property the previous night. Nothing was reported to be missing or stolen.

10-21-2022
At 2:05 p.m. officers responded to a verbal altercation occurring between two females in a residence. After talking with the two females, it was learned that the homeowner was requesting for the other female leave, but she would not. With officers on scene, the female left without issue.
At 11:55 p.m. officers responded to a report of dogs barking all evening in a neighborhood. Upon officer’s arrival, they were unable to locate any sound of dogs barking.
