Correction to 4-H Listening Sesssion article

It has been brought to our attention that there was an error in the “4-H Listening Session Townhall with County Board Supervisor Friske” article on page 2 of the Sept. 22, 2022, edition of the Merrill Foto News.
Julie Allen, Lincoln County Board Supervisor for District 19, reached out to indicate that a quote from Mary Sosnovske seemed to refer to her, but she was not at the meeting. “I was not in attendance at that meeting and I am not in favor of cutting any UW-Extension programs,” Allen clarified in an email to the Foto News.
The quote in the article from Sosnovske originally said:
“I was saddened that a lot of what Chair Friske and Ms. Allen spoke about was cutting items to make up the budget deficit,” she said. “Not much was said about how to create or bring in revenue.”
Mary Sosnovske has clarified that she intended to refer to Julie DePasse, not Julie Allen, so the quote should have correctly said:
“I was saddened that a lot of what Chair Friske and Ms. DePasse spoke about was cutting items to make up the budget deficit,” she said. “Not much was said about how to create or bring in revenue.”

The correction has been made on the electronic edition of the above-referenced article.
