Jennifer “Jen” Marie Burnett, age 37, of Merrill, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She was born on December 9, 1984, to Joe and Tammy (McMillan) Burnett in Merrill, Wisconsin. Throughout the years Jen taught English and helped to build homes for those in need in Costa Rica. She was the sports manager for the Merrill High School boys’ football, baseball, and basketball teams. She was also a soccer coach for the kid’s league. Jen was an avid jewelry maker, who loved the stars, glow sticks and fixing things. She was also a beautician, excelling in school. She was a kindhearted loving mother, daughter, aunt, granddaughter and friend and will be dearly missed.

Jennifer is survived by her children: Avery and Charlie Urbas, and their father Cody Urbas, parents: Tammy and Joe Burnett, grandmothers: Helen Toschner and Millie Wagner, sister: Callie (Dave) Olson, niece, and nephews: Michael Burnett, Hunter Olson, Meredith Olson, and Hayden Olson, many aunts, uncles, and many many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandpa’s: Robert McMillan, William Toschner, and Jim Burnett, great grandparents: Henry and Edna Kritz, and Howard and Virginia McMillan, and best friends: Jo Jo and Kayla.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022, at 5:00 pm at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Merrill. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022, from 3:00 pm until the time of service also at the church. Memorials in Jennifer’s name may be directed to the family at GoFundMe.com “Jennifer Burnett Organized by Joe Burnett”. Waid Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Merrill is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences are encouraged and may be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
