Many parade goers went straight to the Merrill Festival Grounds after the parade to check out the Annual Merrill Lions Club Labor Day Car Show, grab a bite to eat at the food stands, and check out the flea market vendors. The Merrill Festival Grounds were a colorful display of automobiles in every color of the rainbow, and some colors that aren’t in the rainbow. Vehicle owners brought their completed and project cars, trucks, and vans down for the day for visitors to enjoy. There was a make, model, and color for every taste. Classics, antiques, souped up and stock, acres of cars were a sight to see, and attendees enjoyed the display as much as they did the time spent with family and friends. It was a picture-perfect Labor Day, marking the unofficial end of the Wisconsin summer season.
