Schneider will face off against Dinges on Nov. ballot for Lincoln County Sheriff

With all precincts in Lincoln County, Wis., reporting, incumbent Lincoln County Sheriff Ken Schneider emerged the winner of the Republican nomination for Sheriff in the Aug. 9, 2022, Partisan Primary Election. While preliminary results are still subject to confirmation by the Lincoln County Board of Canvass on Monday, Aug. 15, at 9:00 a.m., Schneider received 2,350 (57.46%) votes and challenger Grant Peterson received 1,720 (42.05%) of the votes, winning by more than 15%.
Schneider will now face off in the Nov. 2022 General Election against Garrett Dinges, who is challenging Schneider on the ballot, running as an Independent.
In Lincoln County, 6,415 voters came out to cast a ballot in the 2022 Partisan Primary Election, a full 37.16% of the County’s 17,262 registered voters.
The Republican primary drew the most voters, with the race for Lincoln County Sheriff the only local contested race.
The race for the Republican gubernatorial candidate, as well as numerous other Republican races with multiple candidates in the running, were also key to the turnout. While 26.92% of the voters in Lincoln County cast ballots in the Democratic primary, the vast majority – 72.46% – turned out to cast votes for Republican candidates.
Statewide, results for the races contested on the Partisan Primary ballot are in, subject also to legal certification/confirmation in the state canvass.

Democratic primary results
For the Democratic party, Sara Rodriguez will be on the Nov. ballot running for Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin, and Mandela Barnes was the clear leader who will appear on the ballot in the November race for U.S. Senator for Wisconsin on the party’s ticket. Doug La Follette will be on the ballot for Secretary of State for the Democrats, and Aaron Richardson will be on the ballot for State Treasurer for the Democrats.
The results of the Democratic voters in Lincoln County on Aug. 9 were consistent with the statewide results.

Republican primary results
For the Republican party, Tim Michels will run against current Governor Tony Evers in the November election. Locally, Rebecca Kleefisch was a very close second in the race, with Michels receiving 43.93% of the local vote and Kleefisch receiving 42.43% of the local vote. However, statewide, Michels had a much wider margin for the win.
Roger Roth will represent the Republicans on the ballot vying against Rodriguez for the position of Lieutenant Governor in November. Locally, Patrick Testin was the favorite, but Roth took the win statewide.
Eric Toney will be the Republican on the November ballot in the Attorney General race. Locally, Adam Jarchow was the favorite by a small margin, but Toney took the lead statewide.
Amy Loudenbeck will be the Republican running in November for Secretary of State, although locally Jay Schroeder was the favorite.
John S. Lieber will be the Republican candidate for State Treasurer, and 66.58% of Lincoln County Republican voters also voted for him.
Incumbent Ron Johnson will be on the Republican party ballot for U.S. Senator, while incumbent Tom Tiffany will be on the Republican party ballot for District 7 Representative in Congress. Locally, both of those incumbents were the strong leaders, as well.
