Sharon Rae Mundt

Sharon Rae Mundt, age 87 died unexpectedly at her home, Wed. 8-3-22. She is now resting and awaiting the return of Jesus her Savior. Sharon was born 12-8-34 at home in Lincoln Cty., to Earl and Leona (Zastrow) Layman. She married Raymond (Shorty) Mundt on 4-11-53. They have one daughter Candee (Darrell) Kuhn, Irma, WI. Sharon worked as a “Domestic Engineer” for most of her adult life. She was active in her church where ever they needed her. She played her auto harp, sang and read stories, on a regular bases, at most of the nursing homes and elderly housing units in Lincoln Co. Sharon was very artistic. She wrote songs, did paintings and carvings. She enjoyed collecting miniature perfume bottles and tiny figurines. She loved gardening and looking for agates at Lake Superior. Sharon made many trips to the western states, where she and Shorty put countless miles on their 90CC motorcycles traveling the mountain back roads. After retirement, Sharon, along with her husband volunteered her time and talents every summer, at the 7th Day Adventist church camp, Wakonda, in Westfield, WI. She was always at her husbands side. She was truly a helpmate. Her husband, daughter, son-in-law and dog “Buddy”, were her life. But her greatest love was her Savior, Jesus. She lived her life to serve and praise Him.

Sharon is survived by her husband “Shorty”, Tomahawk, daughter Candee (Darrell) Kuhn, Irma, brothers, Jack Layman, Antigo, Don Layman, Rothschild, Allan Layman, Slinger, Sister-in-laws, Dora Raddatz, Little Chicago, Elaine Barry, Merrill, Jean Henke, Irma, many nieces and nephews and of course her church family. She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, Clarence and Sylvia (Schmidt) Henke, Carl Mundt. Brothers, Bob,& Maurice, sister Janice Berdan and nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Aug. 21st at the Tomahawk Community 7th Day Adventist Church, 1529 East Somo Ave. Visitation will be from 9am – 11:am. Service will begin at 11:00am. Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society assisted in the cremation. In lieu of flowers all Memorials received will go to her favorite mission out reach.
