MEC to hold Merrill’s First Festival of Quilts

The Merrill Enrichment Center (MEC), 303 N. Sales St. in Merrill, will host its First Festival of Quilts on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Admission is $2 per person and is good for both days.
The Festival of Quilts will showcase approximately 100 quilts of all sizes–from mini quilts to king size–all made by local quilters.
As part of the event, a quilt entitled “Fly with Me” measuring 52”x76” will be raffled off. Quilt raffle tickets are available at the MEC and are $1 for one ticket or $5 for six tickets. The raffle drawing will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6. The winner need not be present to win.
Quilting vendors will also be on site selling quilting supplies, sewing and quilting machines, fabrics, patterns, and more. Registered vendors include:

“My committee members and I are very excited to host a quilt show in the city of Merrill for the first time ever, and we hope to make this an annual event,” said Tammie Mrachek, MEC Director.

The gift shop at the MEC will also be open during the show. Attendees can browse through and purchase arts and crafts made by local artisans.
