Palazzo graduates from UW-River Falls

Joshua Palazzo of Merrill graduated and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in June 2022.

Area students named to UW-La Crosse Spring 2022 Dean’s List

The following area students were named to the Dean’s List at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for the spring semester of the 2021-22 academic year, ending May 2022.
Qualification for the Dean’s List is limited to students who have attained outstanding academic achievement. To be eligible, students must have earned not less than a 3.5 semester grade point average and carried a minimum of 12 credits.

Area students named to UW-Platteville Dean’s List

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville announced its Dean’s List, honoring the following full-time students who earned high honors in the spring 2022 semester.

• Drew Hoff, Merrill, Health and Human Performance
College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture and the College of Liberal Arts and Education require grade-point averages of 3.75 and above for Dean’s List honors, while the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Science requires students to reach at least a 3.50.

Area students named to UW-Platteville Chancellor’s List

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville announced its Chancellor’s List, honoring the following area students who had perfect 4.0 grade-point averages for the spring 2022 semester.

Gruetzmacher graduates from South Dakota State

South Dakota State University (SDSU) announced Jonathan Frederick Gruetzmacher of Merrill, WI, has graduated following the spring 2022 semester with a Bachelor of Science in SDSU’s Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering.

Vogel is named to ECC 2022 Spring Term Dean’s List

Katrina Vogel of Merrill was named to the Spring 2022 (January to May) Dean’s List at Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, students must have earned a minimum of 12 credit hours during the semester (a full-time class load) and had at least a 3.5 grade point average for the Spring 2022 semester.

Merrill students receive honors at UW-Green Bay

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, including the Green Bay, Marinette, Manitowoc, and Sheboygan campuses, announced two Merrill students received honors for spring 2022 semester academic achievement. Students who earn a 4.0 GPA receive highest honors, who earn 3.99 to 3.75 GPA receive high honors, and who earn 3.74 to 3.50 GPA receive honors.
Carter Clausen received semester Honors and Jack Zamzow received semester High Honors.

The following area students were named to the Dean’s List at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) for the Spring 2022 semester.

Groth graduates from Alexandria Technical & Community College

Aeden Groth of Merrill graduated with a Mechatronics Associate of Applied Science Degree from Alexandria Technical & Community College of Alexandria, Minn. Groth was honored during the May 11, 2022, commencement ceremony.

Hommerding graduates from Upper Iowa University

Joyce Hommerding of Merrill graduated in May from Upper Iowa University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Admin.

UW-La Crosse announces May 2022 graduates

Area students completed degree requirements at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in May and were awarded their degrees during the school’s 112th Annual Spring Commencement was held at the La Crosse Center Sunday, May 15.
• Jonathan Blake, Athens, received a Master of Science, Healthcare Administration
• Stephen Koch, Merrill, received a Bachelor of Science, Statistics Major: Actuarial Science Concentration, Highest Honors

Two Merrill students graduate from Northwood Technical College

Northwood Technical College announced two Merrill students graduated with the Class of 2022 spring graduates. Degrees were awarded at all four campus locations in May. From Merrill, Tavius Morris received a Technical Diploma LT One Year in Construction Essentials and Kyle Semling also received a Technical Diploma LT One Year in Construction Essentials.

Area students graduate from UW-Oshkosh

Two area students were among the students recognized at the 148th spring commencement ceremonies at UW-Oshkosh campuses [including the Fond du Lac and Fox Cities campuses]. The following students from our area received degrees at the conclusion of the Spring 2022 semester:

Local Cadet graduates from West Point

Cadet Brant David Raleigh, son of Neil and Karla Raleigh of Merrill, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy on Saturday, May 21, 2022. Raleigh is a 2018 graduate of Merrill High School. At West Point, he concentrated his studies in Nuclear Engineering. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army within the Aviation branch and will report to Fort Rucker, Alabama, for his first assignment.
The mission of the U.S. Military Academy is to educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of Duty, Honor, Country, and prepared for a career of professional excellence and service to the Nation as an officer in the United States Army.
West Point is a four-year, co-educational, federal, liberal arts college located 50 miles north of New York City, founded in 1802 as America’s first college of engineering.
