Lois Loraine “Boots” Seeliger (nee Hansohn)

Lois Loraine “Boots” Seeliger (nee Hansohn), born in Merrill Wisconsin on June 29, 1930; died peacefully on June 12, 2022 at Zilber Hospice in Wauwatosa WI. She is survived by her brothers David (Lynn) Wallin and David (Carol) Hanson, children Curt (Jana) and Karen, grandchildren Eilif (Claire) Knutson and Kelsey (Dominic) Knutson, and great grandchild Boone Rasmus Di Laurenzio, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William B. Seeliger, in 2015.

Lois cared passionately for family, friends, and strangers. Her career as an RN allowed her to demonstrate this care towards her many patients, who would often respond with letters and gifts of gratitude. Her creative side was evident in her pottery, sewing, knitting, and counted cross-stitch: the more complex the pattern the better. Her personality was quiet, but she hid a mischievous sense of humor that gave everyone around her reason to giggle. She loved animals, flowers, and a good glass of sweet German wine. Just as she found joy and flourished as a wife and mother, she also found fulfillment in new pursuits as her life evolved. After moving back to the Milwaukee area, she discovered renewed meaning in the people she met and the new ideas she encountered. Life was greatly enhanced by the friends she was introduced to in these last seven years, as well as the medical and companion care she came to trust and enjoy.

We will miss the many ways she showed her love to us, as well as returning that love, and support to her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Zilber Hospice or Canine Cupids. Prasser-Kleczka Bay View Chapel www.pkfuneralhomes.com 414-483-2322
