Arlene Ann Polak, age 72 of Merrill, Wisconsin passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022, at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, Wisconsin. She was born on July 29, 1949, to the late Frederick and Fern (Schneider) Polak in Merrill, Wisconsin. Arlene was a factory worker most of her life. She worked at West Bend Company in West Bend for 16 years, C & H Packaging in Merrill for 14 years, and Hurd Windows and Doors in Merrill for 9 years. She was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Merrill for over 35 years. Arlene enjoyed fishing and picking strawberries and blueberries in the summer. She was a very friendly and generous woman who loved her three nieces dearly. She was devoted to her family and cared for her mother for a very long time. Arlene will be missed by those who knew her.
Arlene is survived by her siblings; Sue (Warren) Myhre and Jane Helminski, best friend; Darlene Rethaber, nieces; Julianna Helminski, Kim Reed, and Sue Lynn Myhre and three grand nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Bill Helminski.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Merrill, Wisconsin. Officiated by Pastor Pat Schutz. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 11:30 am until the time of service also at the church. Interment at Luther Memorial Cemetery in the Town of Schley.
