The Merrill City Band will play their first concert of the 2022 summer season on Wednesday, June 29, at 7:00 p.m. at the Normal Park Gazebo. Directors Linda Becker and Michael Chula say they and the band members are “anxious to get together again and present an evening of toe-tapping music.”

The June 29 concert is titled “Movies, Musicals, Medleys, Marches, and More” and will include: “Best of the Beatles.” “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” “Baby Elephant Walk,” “Great Movie Marches,” “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” “The Great Race,” and more!

On Wednesday, July 6, the Merrill City Band concert is titled “American Flourish,” and will be an evening of patriotic selections. “All veterans, service, and auxiliary members are invited to attend,” Becker said.
The July 13 concert is titled “Color My World” and will be held in conjunction with the “Chalk It Up” all day event and family fun night.

Concerts will continue every Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Normal Park Gazebo through August 3. [However, in the event of rain, the band’s final concert will be rescheduled for August 10.]
“Grab a lawn chair or blanket and come out for an evening of good old-fashioned concert band music in the park,” Becker said. “The ever-popular 50/50 raffle will be in full swing and HAVEN will be providing a variety of concessions, so bring a few bucks to partake.”
