Marlene M. Zuelsdorff

Marlene M. Zuelsdorff, 84, of Merrill, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Marlene was born on January 18, 1938, in Merrill, daughter of the late Marvin and Marie (Kleinschmidt) Hackbart. She married Ron Zuelsdorff on May 31, 1958, in Merrill. He preceded her in death on December 8, 2008. Marlene was very personable and enjoyed working with people.  She worked for Church Mutual and Marathon Cheese.  She was a CNA at the Memorial Nursing Home in Medford.  She worked at several restaurants and was an owner of the Chaparral Supper Club in Whittlesey. Marlene was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tomahawk.  Upon moving to Merrill, she became a steadfast member of Faith Lutheran Church. Marlene enjoyed camping, boating, vacationing in Florida, and a good dry Manhattan. She was very social, loved her dog, and most importantly, loved spending time with her family.

Marlene is survived by her children, Rick Zuelsdorff of Medford, Jan Brahmer of Medford, and Tim (Deb) Zuelsdorff of Merrill; grandchildren, Rachel Bleile, Andrea (Jeff) Graumann, Mallory (Jared) Anderson, Chelsey (Adam) Krug, Adam Zuelsdorff (Joelle), Nathan Brahmer, Erin (Vince) Wojcik, Jason (Amanda) Brahmer, Megan Zuelsdorff, and Katelyn Zuelsdorff (Chris); great-grandchildren, Isaac, Taylor, Piper, Phoebe, Ella, Reid, Hazel, Kailey, Charley, Eve, Addison, Taytem, and Beau; brother, Geno (Marion) Hackbart of Merrill and many nieces and nephews. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Zuelsdorff; parents, Marvin and Marie Hackbart; and brothers, Lloyd (Mary Anne) Hackbart and Warren (Arlene) Hackbart.

The funeral service for Marlene will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Faith Lutheran Church, Village of Maine, Marathon County. Rev. Donald Love will officiate. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 A.M. Thursday at the church. Burial will take place at a later date.
