Lions Club donates for lighting on River Bend Trail

Ron and Beth Kautz presented a $2,500 donation from the Merrill Lions Club to the Friends of the River Bend Trail (Greg Hartwig accepted on the group’s behalf). The Friends group is fundraising for lights on the new section of trail, known as The Lincoln Wood Products section. The lights are on order and should arrive soon. Total cost is $90,000, of which approximately $53,000 has been raised. Donations for this project may be sent in c/o the Merrill Chamber of Commerce. Donations of $100 or more will be recognized on a sign on the trail. This fundraiser will close at the end of June so the sign can be prepared and erected, showcasing the names of the donors at various levels of support: $100 is the Feller level, $250 is the Water Slinger level, $500 is the Birler level, $1,000 is the Lumberjack level, and $2,500 donations are at the Lumber Baron level.
