05-16-2022
At 5:43 p.m. multiple individuals were observed leaving a store with numerous items that they had not paid for. At this time, the investigation is ongoing.
At 10:04 p.m. officers and the fire department responded to a house after the residence reported that their porch had caught on fire. Upon arrival, it was found that a post to the front steps had caught on fire and was put out by the resident before officer’s arrival. At this time, it is unknown what caused the fire.

At 12:27 a.m. an officer observed a female bicyclist fail to stop or slow down at an intersection on E. Main St. Additionally, the bicycle did not have any required lighting for nighttime operation. The female was found to have a warrant for her arrest through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections and was arrested.
At 9:20 a.m. a caller reported her husband was under the influence of drugs and was yelling at her and calling her vulgar names while trying to break into her vehicle to retrieve a cap. He left on his bicycle and was later located and arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and bail jumping.
At 10:17 a.m. an officer observed a male in his yard that he knew had a warrant for his arrest. Additionally, another officer was investigating a case involving the man and requested other officer’s assist. The officer made contact with the man and discussed the earlier case. When informed he had a warrant for his arrest, the man fled from the officer. He was taken into custody shortly thereafter with assistance from a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy. The man was arrested for the warrant and additionally charged with resisting an officer.
At 2:20 p.m. the high school reported receiving a counterfeit $20 bill at the concession stand during an event.

At 7:21 a.m. a caller reported a semi truck was making a turn and struck the stop lights on N. Center Ave. at E. 14th St., causing one stop light to tip over. The driver continued on, seemingly unaware he had struck the stop light. Based on the description, a deputy located a semi and identified the driver. The investigating officer later spoke with a witness, which helped identify the actual company and driver. A crash report will be completed.
At 2:02 p.m. a store reported a female had been caught stealing merchandise. She was arrested for retail theft and probation violation.
At 4:03 p.m. a caller reported a domestic disturbance. It was found a male became upset about the condition of the residence. He picked up his wife and carried her upstairs, as he wished to speak to her further. This caused the female’s adult daughter to intervene, and the male shoved her. The male was arrested for domestic battery and disorderly conduct.
At 6:07 p.m. a store reported a customer became upset after she was suspected of shoplifting and began yelling and swearing at an employee. She then reportedly drove erratically in the parking lot while departing. The suspect’s identity is known, and enforcement action will be determined after reviewing surveillance video.
At 11:48 p.m. a caller reported a male threw a rock at his vehicle, causing the tail lamp lens to break. The suspect’s identity is known and follow-up will be conducted with him.

At 3:42 p.m. officers responded to a male sitting in front of a residence who was possibly non-responsive. Upon arrival of officers, the male became conscious and began speaking with officers. While talking with the male, the odor of intoxicants could be smelled from his breath, and it was learned that the male was not supposed to be consuming intoxicants per court order. The male consented to a preliminary breath test, which detected intoxicants in his system. The male was then taken into custody for violating court order by consuming intoxicants. The male was also later charged with resisting officers, due to his resistive behavior during transportation.
At 4:00 p.m. officers were dispatched to a male yelling at a female at a residence. After investigation, it was found that the male was actually yelling at a neighbor. The male was cited for disorderly conduct due to his yelling disturbing the neighborhood.

At 11:32 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle for speed and found that the driver did not have a license. The driver was cited for operating without a license and for speed.

05-22-2022
At 5:25 a.m. the tenants of a residence called law enforcement after they had located a male, whom they did not know, in their bathroom. The unknown male had left the residence prior to officer’s arrival. The tenants reported that nothing had been damaged or taken by the unknown male. The area was searched by officers, but the male was not located. Investigation is ongoing.
At 10:43 a.m. owners of a house reported that a safe within their home had been broken into while they were away on vacation. Nothing else in the home was reported as being disturbed or stolen. Investigation is ongoing.
At 11:20 p.m. officers were dispatched to a residence after a window was reported to have been shot at and broken by a bb gun. Investigation is ongoing.
