Gloria Jean Gammey

Gloria Jean Gammey, age 66, of Appleton, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on December 22, 1955 to Ellsworth and Joyce (Berndt) Kufahl in Merrill.   Gloria graduated from Merrill Senior High School in 1974.  On April 28, 1979 she married the love of her life Timothy Gammey.  Gloria worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory and Essity for 37 years as a machine operator where she was also a Union Member.   She enjoyed gardening, reading, trails of any kind, renting cottages around Wisconsin , and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Gloria is survived by her children Jessica (Nick) Gardner and their children Andrew and Jacob and David (Carly) Gammey and their daughter Emily; her mother Joyce Kufahl; siblings: Sandi (Tim) Schmeltzer, Robert (Debbie) Kufahl and Tom (Linda Fitzkufahl) Kufahl; brothers-in-law Bill Gammey and Tom Giganti; best friends: Sue Schreiber, Jane Kufahl, Linda Cartwright, Gale Spliski, and Rene Zuiches; and other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband Timothy; her father Ellsworth; twin infant sisters Kathryn and Kathleen; sister Rita Giganti; and parents-in-law Louis and Emily Gammey.

A Funeral Service for Gloria was held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 407 Oak Street, Neenah with Pastor Tony McKenzie officiating.  Friends visited from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment took place at St. Paul’s Church Cemetery in the town of Pine River, Lincoln County.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sally Andersen, APNP, from Ascension Medical Group of Greenville, Darci Nelson and the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital Cancer Center, and the staff at Compassus Hospice for the care and compassion they showed Gloria and her family.
