Connexus Credit Union’s philanthropic program, Connexus Cares, announced recent donations to two Merrill-based organizations: the MAC Home and St. Vincent de Paul of Merrill.

Connexus Cares made a $7,750 donation to the MAC Home. “The MAC Home provides safe housing and basic needs to families and individuals experiencing homelessness. They operate a warming center, as well as temporary transitional housing. Additionally, they offer resources to individuals experiencing homelessness, such as information on community agencies, assistance with job searching, and developing self-esteem and other areas of mental wellbeing,” a press release from Connexus said. The $7,750 Connexus Cares donation is designated to the area of greatest need and will be used for general operating costs.

Connexus Cares also made a $5,000 donation to St. Vincent de Paul of Merrill. “St. Vincent de Paul of Merrill supports community members through their Outreach Office, as well as a free clinic for those who do not have access to affordable health coverage,” their press release said.
The $5,000 Connexus Cares donation is designated to supporting Outreach Services which help community members with emergency needs such as WPS disconnections, rental evictions, medical bills, vehicle repairs, diapers, food, gas, and other related emergencies.

“The Merrill community is very near and dear to me, and many other Connexus employees, so being able to extend our financial giveback to more wonderful organizations in the Merrill area is a great privilege,” said Boyd Gustke, Connexus President and Chief Executive Officer. “Both the MAC Home and St. Vincent de Paul are critical non-profit organizations helping so many in the Merrill area, providing support and resources at times of worry and stress that many can’t imagine. Each individual helped by these organizations brings us one step closer to a better and brighter future for all of us – and I’m thankful that Connexus can support them along the way.”

Connexus Credit Union serves more than 390,000 members across all 50 states, Connexus is a member-focused cooperative with over $3.9 billion in assets. Connexus provides high yields for checking accounts and deposit products, as well as an industry-leading digital banking experience and competitive rates for personal, home, and auto loans. The Wausau-based credit union has been nationally recognized for excellence by Forbes, CNN Money, NerdWallet, Kiplinger, and Bankrate.com. Connexus is committed to being a nationally relevant, trusted credit union, providing exceptional experiences, and fostering prosperity for those it serves.
