MAPS accepts January donations

The following donations were approved and/or accepted at the Jan. 16 Merrill Area Public Schools (MAPS) Board of Directors meeting:

A donation of water bottles, pens, and chewing gum from Oneida County Health Department Tobacco Coalition valued at $4,640.00 for MAPS students to use as part of the Water Bottle Outreach Project; school supplies and backpacks from Rhonda Bengston valued at $25 for MAPS students in need; handmade hats, mittens, and scarves from Carol Leavitt valued at $150 for keeping students warm at Kate Goodrich; the following donations for the MHS Student Council Counseling Fund in memory of Judi BeVier-North: $25 from Karen Watzlawick, $25 from Susan Wobig, $30 from Kathy Pfahlert, $20 from Sandra Jordan, and $25 from Esther Mintz; funds from the Nelnet Foundation valued at $900 for the MAPS Boys’ Soccer Program as part of the match program for Hollie Senzig’s donation; costumes from Walmart valued at $50 for student costume use at Kate Goodrich; heated apparel from the Family of Noah Conrad valued at $1,000 for keeping Kate Goodrich staff warm while on outside supervision duty; hats, mittens, and scarves from West Side Business Association Mitten Tree valued at $1,080 for keeping Kate Goodrich students warm; handmade hats and scarves from Stitches & Chains valued at $440 for keeping Kate Goodrich students warm; classroom snacks from Grampa’s Farm valued at $475 for snacks for Kate Goodrich students; a check from the Wisconsin River Pro Rodeo valued at $260 for Prairie River Middle School PBIS; funds from Elizabeth Plautz valued at $30 for Special Olympics in memory of Adam Smith; and funds from Delta Dental valued at $500 to help support the needs of MAPS students as part of the Lincoln County Hygiene Drive.
