Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office seeking public’s help in locating missing Tomahawk-area man

LINCOLN COUNTY – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for assistance in locating a Tomahawk-area man who has not been heard from since Nov. 2021.

According to a Monday, April 4 post on the Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page, Tomahawk-area resident David L. Strahota, age 61, described as being 5’4” tall and weighing 200 pounds, was last heard from around Nov. 17, 2021, when he told friends he was “going hunting down south for a couple of weeks.”  The Sheriff’s Office said Strahota requested a friend take care of his animals while he was gone.

“According to friends, David was vague about his exact location or who, if anyone, he would be with,” the Sheriff’s Office stated, noting that Strahota could potentially be in the Fox Valley area in eastern Wisconsin.

The Sheriff’s Office said Strahota’s friends “indicated that it is not normal for David to be gone for such a long period of time, and they are concerned because he does have health issues.”

Strahota does not have a cell phone and he left his vehicle at his residence, which is not out of the ordinary because Strahota usually rides with others, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

“David’s house and property were searched with no leads as to where he might have gone,” the Sheriff’s Office stated.

Those with information on Strahota’s whereabouts may contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 715-536-6272.
