To the Editor:
When I was a child 80 years ago, we cared about our neighbors. If there was hunger, we fed. If there was hurt, we helped.
We did not judge one another. Sure, we had our Saturday night fist fight at the local bars, usually ended with a handshake and a beer.
Yes, we went to church on Sunday and the world shut down for a day.
What has happened to the human being? Now we war for no reason, we hate for no reason.
If someone honks at us with their car, some shoot for no reason.
Once was the fist, now we drive-by shoot.
Some live in fear of their neighbor, with drug use running rampant. Tell me, friends:
WHAT HAS HAPPENED AND WHERE IS OUR JUSTICE!

To the Editor:
Dear Fellow Citizens:
I spent 16 years on the Lincoln County Board, from 2000-2016. I ran to do my part in providing solid, honest governance.
I have seen bullies and troublemakers come and go as they found out that good governance requires patience, in-depth research and understanding and, perhaps most importantly, cooperation.
I came to appreciate the efforts of Paul Gilk, Kevin Koth, Hans BreitenmoserGreta Rusch, Judy Woller, Brian Hafeman, Pat Voermans, Judy Allen, Dora Gorski, Elizabeth McCrank, Derek Woellner,NubsAshbeck and some others who have since moved on. I also see value in Al Bishop who has a long, steady track record in a family with a long, well-respected history in our County.
I am not telling any fellow citizen how to vote-I am expressing my view and hope it brings clarity as you head to the voting booth.
