Cheaper By the Dozen 2022 (Now streaming on Disney)

Rated PG – because it’s painful to watch

Yours, Mine, and Ours, the original story on which this is based, is a fantastic film starring Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda, Cheaper By the Dozen 2003 was a mild reboot of the original, starring Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt, and it was a fun little film.

Cheaper By the Dozen 2022 is a mind-numbingly bad film filled with joyless humor and infected by Wokism. Starring the immensely unlikable Zack Braff (Scrubs) as the Father and Gabrielle Union (starring in many lawsuits against studios) as the Mother, this film offers nothing to the viewer except some preachy messaging about blended families.

If you are going to reboot a film, perhaps bother to hire some writers before you start filming, because this film felt like they were writing it as they went along.

I am not going to even bother getting into the plot, because it’s not worth it.

Skip this joyless remake, everyone. It has no redeeming qualities, and your time is better served cleaning out the closet or trimming your nails or pretty much anything else.

Now streaming on Disney (and I only tell you where it is so you can avoid it), this piece of junk gets one star out of five stars, and it gets that one star because there is one joke that made me kinda smile … a little … but then again, by the time that joke came along, the bar had been lowered pretty far.
