Carl Randolf  Westberg Sr.

Carl Randolf  Westberg Sr., age 92, of Merrill, Wisconsin, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill, Wisconsin. He was born on January 31, 1930, to the late Randolf and Marie (Daren) Westberg in Wausau, Wisconsin.  On May 10, 1952, Carl and Mary Jane Eckes were united in marriage. She precedes him in death.  Carl was a counselor at the boy’s school for many years. On the side, he liked shopping for cars and reselling them. He was a part of the VFW and the Eagle’s Club.  Carl was a very outgoing, funny man, who kept everyone’s schedules in line. He was a master at grilling hamburgers, and an avid walker. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, and most of all spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchild.  Every time his grandchildren walked in the room his face would light up.  He was a very caring person and made sure everyone was taken care of.  He will be dearly missed by those who knew him.

Carl is survived by his children: Carla (Marty Rajek) Hartwig, Paula (Bob Myers) Molitor, Lisa (Jim Butler) McAllister, and Carl (Randy) Westberg Jr., grandchildren: Amanda Molitor, Paul (Stacy) Molitor, and Shawn McAllister, step grandchildren: Laura Butler and Kelly Butler, great grandchildren: Jerrissa Konyn, Jerrick Konyn, Vanessa Birch, David Woller, Taylor Woller, Nora Molitor, and Oliver Molitor, step great grandchild: Amelia Thompson great-great grandchild: Preston Stevens, sister: Nancy Sprotte and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, son-in-law Kelley Hartwig, grandchildren Jessica Hartwig, Jerrica Woller, siblings Russel Westberg, Alice Koppa, and Joan Westberg.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 12:00 pm at St. Francis Catholic Church. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Waid Funeral Home.
