Schmidt is February Youth Optimist at PRMS

Eighth grader Norah Schmidt has been named February Youth Optimist at Prairie River Middle School. Mr. Hahn nominated her saying, “Norah is the epitome of an optimist. She constantly shows initiative and self-direction in everything she does while at the same time seeks to be an amazing friend.”

“I have had the privilege of teaching and coaching Norah in math and basketball and, during that time, I have witnessed her constantly strive to improve her abilities both academically and athletically,” Mr. Hahn said. “She is always asking questions and willing to put in the extra effort to improve herself. Norah actively seeks feedback and utilizes that feedback to improve. Norah brightens every room she enters and hands down deserves to be Youth Optimist of the Month.”

“Norah partakes in Cross Country and Girls Basketball,” he said. “She has received the Prairie River Middle School Safety Award and is a part of the L&L Tree Dodgers Snowmobile Club. Norah is described as caring, helpful, ambitious, enthusiastic, and is known to be a problem solver.”

She is the daughter of Danelle Schmidt of Merrill.
