Allen is March Youth Optimist at PRMS

Eighth grader Kaylynn Allen has been named March Youth Optimist at Prairie River Middle School. Mr. Kautzer nominated her, saying, “Kaylynn has demonstrated many of the Optimist Creed values but one really pops: To think only for the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.’” he said. “This mindset is what makes her a winner and why I recommend Kaylynn for Youth Optimist. She works hard, treats others with respect, and finds the good in every situation.”

“Kaylynn is involved in many school and community activities. She participates in the Junior Jays volleyball, Mathcounts, teaches dance classes two nights each week, and serves as Secretary at Pine River Pioneer Sunrise 4-h Club,” he continued. “She has also earned several awards including: Student of the Quarter twice, Lincoln County M.A.S.S. Integrity Award, and Intermediate Showmanship at the Lincoln County Fair this past year.”

“Kaylynn doesn’t expect rewards for doing the right thing,” Mr. Kautzer said. “Character drives her to expect only the best in herself and others. She is described as hardworking, honest, and funny.”

She is the daughter of Joseph Allen and Samantha Allen of Merrill.
