Craig Allen Nelson

Craig Allen Nelson passed away Wednesday, January 26 after a unique and courageous battle with West Nile Virus. Craig lived in the St. Louis area. Craig was born May 28, 1955 in Madison, WI to the late Bud and Phyllis Nelson. From Stevens Point In 1962 they relocated to Merrill, WI.  Craig graduated from Merrill High School in 1973. Craig graduated from UW Eau Claire with an accounting degree and computer science. He owned his own business in St. Louis refurbishing and building decks and refurbishing architectural structures. He met the love of his life, Sharon Spurgin and were married April 26, 2014 in Las Vegas. Craig instantly became the father of 4 and poured out his love for them as they did, Craig became their father. Craig enjoyed deer and grouse hunting up at the family shack in Newood and was an avid golfer. He was a diehard Green Bay Packer fan and received a box full of signed gear for good luck. Craig equally enjoyed his Weimaraner dogs Buddy and Thor and Doberman Shona. He enjoyed nothing better than spending his time with his family.

Survivors include his wife Sharon, his four children Lauren, Jimmy, Hannah, and Chris, all located in the St. Louis area, 2 granddaughters, his brother Pat and wife Norma Nelson of Menasha, WI, and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are open visitation at Schrader Funeral Home Wednesday, February 9 from 10am to 2pm. Service will be held at 2pm. The service may be live streamed and will be shown on the Schrader Funeral Website. In leu of flowers we ask that you honor his memory donating to Craig Hospital Foundation, 3425 S. Clarkson St., Englewood, CO  80113.
