Eighth grader Joshua Gustum has been named Prairie River Middle School (PRMS) Youth Optimist for November 2021. He was nominated by Mrs. Nelessen who said, “Joshua works hard and goes beyond expectations. Joshua is a positive role model, willing to help other students, and is a great team player. His introspective and respectful manner is a welcome addition to the classroom. I am glad to recommend Joshua for Youth Optimist.”
“He has taken part in multiple school activities. This year in eighth grade he has been a part of Football and Wrestling,” she said. “In sixth grade, he also took part in the Student Council.”
“Joshua has also been on the Honor Roll,” Mrs. Nelessen said. “Out in the community, he is a part of the Boy Scouts.”
“Joshua has been described as kind, thoughtful, smart, and easy going,” she added.
Joshua is the son of Christie and Matt Gustum of Merrill.
