Alan Charles Johnson age 67, of Merrill, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Alan was born on December 9th 1954 to Joyce and the late Alvin Johnson.
Al was a helicopter mechanic in the army during the Vietnam era. He used the hands God gave him to fix and build things, which brought him to making a career as a hardwood flooring specialist. Alan had a true love for nature, spending most of his time outdoors hunting, fishing and camping. He had a compassionate heart and was always willing to help someone in need. Al was an early riser with great work ethics, a true motivation to all.
Alan is survived by his mother Joyce Johnson (Ken Sturm), his love, friend and companion Sherry Matsche. His daughter Jennifer Johnson (Tiger) and his grandchildren, Devoun, Breanna, Dezmon, Shyla and Evette. Great grandchildren Dezireah and Lukah. His one sis Alice, brothers, Tom (Sue), Tim, Stan (Pat), Dan (Tammy), several beloved nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. His fur companions are cat Dexter, and dog Smokey.
John J. Buettgen Funeral Home assisted with cremation. A celebration of life for Alan will be held at a later date.
