Lawrence Paul Walter Kleinschmidt Jr.

Lawrence Paul Walter Kleinschmidt Jr., of Merrill, Wisconsin passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022 at Howard Young Hospital in Woodruff, Wisconsin. Lawrence was born on September 4, 1953 to Lawrence Kleinschmidt Sr., and Carmelita Ament in Merrill, Wisconsin.  In junior high school, Lawrence met the love of his life, Marie Lynn Klempke. They were married on June 29, 1974 in Merrill, Wisconsin.  Lawrence worked at Semco Windows and Doors as a laborer for many years and as a logger in his earlier years. He was a kid at heart. He was a character with a great sense of humor. Occasionally, he would make jokes at the wrong time, but mostly at the right time. He was a woodworker, helping to make crochet hooks that he sent around the world. He was always brainstorming things to make. He loved to fish, hunt but most of all he loved his grandkids and his dog Sophie.

Lawrence is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marie Kleinschmidt, children: Nicole (Kevin) Koelsch, Sara (John) Joyner, and Kyle (Kaila) Kleinschmidt, grandchildren: Makayla Koelsch, Kody Koelsch, and Noah Joyner, siblings: VerJean (Dennis) Schmidt, and James (Shar) Kleinschmidt, sister-in-law Dawn Kleinschmidt and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ron Kleinschmidt, granddaughter Bailee and nephew Danny Klempke.
