It’s that time of year again. The New Year is right around the corner. And many people are making New Year’s resolutions to change their lives for the better.
Year after year, one of the most popular New Year’s resolutions is to lose weight and get in shape. Unfortunately, statistics show 40 percent of those people will give up on their New Year’s resolutions in less than a month.
Four years ago, Kindhearted Home Care in Merrill, introduced a 12-week community weight loss challenge called “The Solution to Your Resolution,” and they are facilitating the program again for 2022. Their goal: To help Merrill get 2022 off to a positive start.
The 2022 weight loss challenge will run from Jan. 3 through Mar. 25, 2022, and is organized in teams of four to six people that will compete to lose the most weight. Organized teams can sign up together, and individuals who want to participate but don’t already have a team can sign up to be placed on a team, organizers said.
The sign-up deadline is Jan. 3 to get in on the challenge.
Teams are encouraged to come up with clever names. There will be a prize for the best team name, in addition to prizes for winners who lose the most weight, at the end of the program. Winners will be determined based on a percentage of team weight loss, organizers said.
How does it work?
Teams will weigh in weekly and report their totals to Kindhearted Home Care, with the first and last weigh-ins being held at Kindhearted. The weekly results will be posted by team name on the Kindhearted Home Care Facebook page.
The competition will also feature specific weekly challenges over the 12-week period.
Kindhearted Home Care offers participants a fun, supportive environment to make positive lifestyle changes, and by running “The Solution to Your Resolution” for 12 full weeks, they increase the chances that participants will incorporate permanent changes that will give them lasting results.

The cost to participate is $50.00 per team with 100% payout over multiple prize categories.
